Our Analyst/PMs are compensated on firm performance and the quality of their individual work on behalf of our clients. In this environment, “Buy”, “Sell” and “Avoid” recommendations are equally important.

Members of our operations, client relations and administrative teams bring valuable experience and expertise from across the investment management industry.

All DSM team members are on ownership track. All but the newest members of our staff already have equity interests in the firm and have significant personal investments in DSM portfolios. This helps ensure that our interests are fully aligned with those of our clients.

Daniel Strickberger

Managing Partner/CIO

Daniel Strickberger began his career in 1979 as a credit analyst, first at Morgan Guaranty, and later at Bank of Tokyo. He joined Oppenheimer & Co. as a securities analyst in 1982. He joined Lazard Freres & Co. later that year, after Oppenheimer & Co. was sold.

Dan was appointed Director of Research of Lazard Freres Asset Management in 1987 and was made a general partner of Lazard Freres & Co. in 1988. He was one of two senior portfolio managers supervising Lazard’s domestic equity investments. Dan also developed and was the senior portfolio manager of Lazard’s international equities portfolio. Dan joined W.P. Stewart & Co. in 1991 where he served as senior portfolio manager and equity analyst, managing a substantial portion of the firm’s assets. Dan left W.P. Stewart in 2000 to co-found DSM.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Delaware and a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from New York University. Dan serves on the Investment Committee of the University of Delaware Endowment.

David McVey

Deputy Chief Investment Officer

David McVey started out in 1992 at Mutual Funds Service Company in Boston. In 1995 he became an equity research associate for biotechnology and healthcare at Hambrecht & Quist. He then moved to Furman Selz, becoming a vice president and serving as a media and entertainment analyst. Most recently, he has been media and entertainment associate analyst at J.P. Morgan H&Q. David received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Finance from New Hampshire College and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. David joined DSM in 2001.

Kenneth Yang

Deputy Chief Investment Officer

Kenneth Yang started his career in 1995 as a business analyst for McKinsey & Co. in New York and Taiwan. He subsequently spent several years in Hong Kong as an associate with Olympus Capital, a private equity firm. In 2002, Ken joined Goldman Sachs as an investment banking associate in their Technology, Media and Telecom Group. From 2004-2011 he was a senior analyst and vice president with Paulson & Company, responsible for special situations and long/short equities. While there, he focused on risk arbitrage, distressed situations, spin-offs, restructurings, and catalyst driven long equity investments. More recently, Ken has worked with several non-profit organizations in third-world countries. Ken received a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Ken joined DSM in 2014.

Justin Burk

Portfolio Manager/Analyst

Justin Burk joined Moody’s Investor Services in 1998, moving to Carlyle High Yield Partners as an analyst in 1999. In 2001, he joined Aslan Capital Management, a high yield event-driven hedge fund, where he specialized in corporate structure analysis and asset valuation. Justin received an A.B. in Biochemical Sciences with Honors from Harvard University, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Justin joined DSM in 2002.

Hannah Chiang

Portfolio Manager/Analyst

Hannah Chiang began her career at American Century Investment Management in 1997. She rose up from financial analyst, focused on international equities, to senior investment analyst of international and global growth. She was responsible for sourcing ideas with a focus on large cap global consumer staples companies. Hannah holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business and a Master of Science in Finance, both from the University of Colorado. Hannah joined DSM in 2015.

Takamune Fujikawa

Portfolio Manager/Analyst

Takamune Fujikawa began his career in 1994 at Nomura Securities International in New York as a quantitative analyst. In 2008, he joined The Boston Company Asset Management as a senior international equity analyst. Taka continued his career in Hong Kong at Hutchinhill Capital as a senior equity analyst. His most recent role was a senior analyst at the equity research department in SMBC Nikko Securities in Tokyo. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business from New York University, Stern School of Business. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Taka joined DSM in May 2018.

Pinaki Kar

Portfolio Manager/Analyst

Pinaki Kar started his career in life-sciences strategy consulting at ZA Associates in 1994 where he advised pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients on strategic options, sales and marketing strategy and tactics as well as post-merger integration and restructuring of commercial operations. He subsequently worked at Pfizer and Bristol-Myers Squibb in various roles within brand planning and management. His most recent role was at Novartis AG where he was responsible for screening and assessment of strategic investment opportunities. Pinaki holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and a Masters in Logistics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was on the Deans List. He also holds a Masters in Engineering from Notre Dame and an MBA in Finance from New York University, where he earned the Stern Scholar designation. Pinaki joined DSM in 2008.

Steve Tish

Portfolio Manager/Analyst

Steve Tish began his career at Lazard Freres Asset Management in 1991 as an analyst/portfolio manager. He covered a multitude of industries including technology, healthcare, business services, and conglomerates. Steve then moved to PAW Partners in Greenwich as a partner and analyst/portfolio manager where he was responsible for the P&L of the healthcare segment of a multi-sector hedge fund. He then joined Millennium Partners in New York as a partner and analyst/portfolio manager where he worked with a team which was dedicated to their global healthcare hedge fund. The members of the team later left Millennium to start Panacea Asset Management, an independent healthcare sector hedge fund in New York. He joined DSM in October 2007. Steve earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland, an MBA from Cornell University and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Eric Woodworth

Portfolio Manager/Analyst

Eric Woodworth joined Price Waterhouse Coopers in 1994 as a technology consultant. He became a team leader and managed projects for PWC in Toronto and Chicago. He also served as an internal instructor for PWC in Tampa, Florida. Eric left PWC in 1999 to attend business school, spending his summer in equity research at Merrill Lynch. Eric holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Williams College, an MBA in Finance from New York University, and a Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Eric joined DSM in 2001.

Chris Bertoni

Head Trader

Chris Bertoni began his career in 1998 at Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn LLC and rose to senior portfolio accountant. He moved to Axe Houghton Associates, Inc. in 1999 as a trader of both listed and NASDAQ securities. While at Axe Houghton, Chris worked alongside a team of portfolio managers and the senior trader with regard to the daily management of client accounts. Chris received a Bachelor of Science degree from SUNY Oneonta in Business Economics and an MBA in Finance from Fordham University. Chris joined DSM in 2002.

Shayn Logan

Trader

Shayn Logan began his career in 2008 at Independent Portfolio Consultants, first as a portfolio analyst and later as assistant overlay portfolio manager. Following an internship as a financial analyst at CJJ Corp. while in graduate school, he joined Northern Trust in 2013. As an overlay portfolio manager and team lead at Northern Trust, Shayn provided investment support to portfolio managers, coordinated the execution of block trades and supervised trades of equities, ETF’s and funds. Prior to college, Shayn spent five years in the Security Forces division of the US Air Force. He received both a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and an MBA in Finance from Florida Atlantic University. Shayn joined DSM in 2016.

Meredith Meyer

Chief Operating Officer

Meredith Meyer began her career in 1995 as a staff accountant for Sotheby’s in New York.  In 1997, she joined Marsh & McLennan Companies where she was an audit supervisor, eventually moving to a subsidiary, Mercer HR Consulting as assistant treasurer, then to Marsh Inc. as finance manager of international operations, in both New York and Sydney, Australia.  After nine years, Meredith left to join Macquarie Investment Management where she spent the next twelve years in various positions including business operations manager and chief operating officer, global listed infrastructure. She was also chief financial officer and treasurer of the Macquarie Global Listed Infrastructure Total Return Fund and most recently director of strategic initiatives in the global client service group.  Meredith holds a BS in Accounting from Villanova University and is a Certified Public Accountant.  She is a member of the Executive Board of Girls Inc. of New York City.  Meredith joined DSM in December 2019.

James Brown

Business Development

James Brown began his career in asset management in 1995 when he joined Derby Securities as a trader. In 1999 he joined J.M. Hartwell where he was a trader as well as an associate in business development. From 2000-2007 he was a Vice President in Sales and Marketing for Lazard Asset Management, with responsibility for distribution of separately managed accounts, mutual funds and alternative investments. He then joined Scotsman Capital Management from 2007-2008 as Director of Sales and Marketing. He joined Cramer Rosenthal McGlynn in 2008 where he was Director of Third Party Distribution. Subsequently he became Head of Global Funds Distribution with responsibility for distribution of separately managed accounts, mutual funds and alternative investments. Jimmy joined DSM in 2018. He received a BA from Vanderbilt University in 1995.

Stephen Constantine

Business Development

Stephen Constantine began his career in asset management in 1981 when he joined Fischer Francis Trees & Watts, Inc. to manage fixed income portfolios for institutional clients. Subsequently, as a managing director/shareholder of the firm, he assumed responsibility for the firm’s business development and client servicing on a global basis. In 2004, he joined NorthRoad Capital Management, LLC as a principal responsible for developing institutional clients and working with investment consultants. He joined DSM Capital Partners in July 2008 and has business development and client servicing responsibilities. Stephen earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Rochester and an MBA in Finance from New York University. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the Economic Club of New York.

Blair Barton

Associate Attorney

Blair Barton joined Hamstreet & Associates as an administrative assistant in 2009. While attending law school she interned at Nelson Levine de Luca & Hamilton in 2012 and served as a judicial extern for The Honorable Allan L. Grouper of the US Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of NY the following year. Upon graduating, Blair joined Natixis Wholesale Banking Americas as a staff attorney, where she handled securities lending and repurchase agreements for the capital markets desk. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC San Diego and a law degree from the Fordham University School of Law. Blair joined DSM Capital in April 2016 as associate attorney.

Patricia Bonadio

Client Service

Patricia Bonadio began her career in 1994 as a research assistant at W.P. Stewart & Company. She became an associate portfolio manager where her responsibilities included all forms of client service from portfolio allocations to performance calculations to required reporting. Patricia received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics & Statistics from Stony Brook University. Patricia joined DSM in 2007.

Kristen D’Ambrosio

Client Service

Kristen D’Ambrosio began her career in 1993 as an operations assistant at Barclay Investments, Inc. Later that year she joined W.P. Stewart & Company as a portfolio assistant, eventually becoming an associate portfolio manager where her responsibilities included client service, trading and trade allocation and reporting. Kristen received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Fairfield University and an MBA in Finance from New York University. Kristen joined DSM in 2008.

Russell Katz

General Counsel, CCO

Russell Katz began his career as an analyst in 1994 in the enforcement division of the New York Stock Exchange. In 1996, Russell joined Oppenheimer & Company as an attorney in its legal department, and in 1999 moved to Goldman Sachs Asset Management as a compliance associate. Russell joined Credit Suisse Asset Management in 2000 as vice president and legal counsel. In 2005, he became general counsel and chief compliance officer of Family Management Corporation. Russell joined DSM Capital in January 2011 as general counsel and chief compliance officer. He holds a Bachelor of Arts & Science degree from Syracuse University and a law degree from New York Law School.

Vitas Martinenas

Controller

Vitas Martinenas began his career in 1980 as a staff accountant for Paine Webber. In 1983 he joined Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette as a financial analyst, eventually becoming a manager within the product control group of the Institutional Equities Division. In 2001 he became the head of Global Expense Management of NA at Credit Suisse First Boston. In 2004 he became controller at Acorn Capital Group, a hedge fund dealing in asset-backed lending. Vitas received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Bridgeport and an MBA in Finance from Baruch College. Vitas joined DSM in 2010.

Patricia Michell

Operations

Patricia Michell was born and raised in London, England. She began her career in the US at Salomon Brothers Inc. from 1986-1992. Patricia became an owner/operator of several McDonald’s franchises in Westchester County from 1992-2005. After a hiatus to raise her child, Patricia returned to work at the Mount Kisco Medical Group in 2006. She joined DSM in December 2009. Patricia received her Pediatric Nursing Degree from Southwark College in 1974.

Sandra Montoya

Performance Analyst

Sandra Montoya began her career in 2002 as an operations specialist for Virtual Bank. In 2005, she joined Ocwen Loan Servicing as a reconciliation analyst, and later moved into corporate accounting. Sandra joined Northern Trust in 2010 as an investment operations specialist. She was promoted to team lead, and then manager of investment operation oversight, where she helped develop an automated process to reconcile nearly 30,000 accounts prior to market open each day. Sandra has a Bachelor of Science in International Business Management from Northwood University. She joined DSM in May 2016.

Nina Petrushev

Client Service

Nina Petrushev began her career in 2003 as a financial services representative at First Investors Corporation. She moved to Morgan Stanley in 2004 as a client reporting analyst in the private wealth management group. In 2006, Nina joined Kenmar Group, a managed futures fund of funds, where she had a number of investor relations and operational responsibilities. In 2010, she took a position with the investor services group of SS&C GlobeOp. Nina received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SUNY Albany. She joined DSM in 2014.

Nina Renna

HR/Office Administration

Nina Renna began her career in office administration in 1981 at Burlingham Underwood and Lord, an admiralty law firm in New York. She moved to the real estate law firm of Demov Morris & Hammerling before starting a career with Citibank in 1986 where she was a vice president managing business compliance, real estate projects and environmental issues. After a hiatus, Nina returned to work in the health care sector first as an office manager, then as a senior systems implementation leader. Nina received a BA in Psychology and a BA in English Literature from Kutztown University. She joined DSM in 2014.

Hikaru Sato-Hua

Client Service

Hikaru Sato-Hua began her career in the Financial industry in 1998 as a Global Client Service Manager in the International Business Development Department at Putnam Investments in Boston. In 2002, she joined the Japanese Institutional Sales and Marketing team at Putnam Investments in Tokyo, Japan as a Vice President, Senior Global Client Service Manager. Hikaru received a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Administration from Boston University and Masters of Science in Administrative Studies from Boston University. Hikaru joined DSM in February 2018.

Stephen Memishian

Co-Managing Partner

Stephen Memishian began his career as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in 1970. In 1976, he joined Columbia Pictures Industries, a client, as an executive in the feature film division. In 1979, he helped to found APM, ultimately one of the largest specialized hospital consulting firms.

Steve moved to Paine Webber in 1984 as senior vice president of the equity research division and, later, the investment banking division. He joined W.P. Stewart & Company in April 1989 as chief operating officer. Steve held that position for a number of years, eventually moving fully to equity research and portfolio management. He left W.P. Stewart at the end of 2000 to co-found DSM.

Steve received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Tufts University, and a Master of Science in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is active at MIT, presently serving on the North American Executive Advisory Board, and also on the Finance Group Advisory Board, of the Sloan School of Management. He is a past chairman of the Council for the Arts at MIT. He is also a past trustee of the Greenwich Country Day School. Steve holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
